Looking from the back of the screen, the Raspberry Pi mount looks like the following:
There are several ways to operate the screen with Raspberry Pi:
- With an external power adapter With an external power adapter (such as phone adapters), you can enable the display to be powered by the usb input below.
- Giving the screen power from Raspberry Pi: In this way, if you have a powerful adapter, you can feed both the Raspberry Pi and the screen with the current taken from the USB port:
- You can also supply 5V current from the GPIO ports by directly connecting the power pins of the display. Sample picture as below:
To run the screen, you first need to update the packages in the Raspbian distribution and restart the device:
- sudoapt-get update
- sudoapt-get upgrate
- sudoapt-get reboot
Then the image should come directly to the screen. In this case the HDMI connection is still init but. If you do not want it to do so, that is to load, you can cancel the HDMI connection with a command like:
- display_default_lcd = 0
You must add this code at the end of /boot/config.txt.
