Short Flexible Sensor - Flex / Bend Sensor - Adafruit
This sensor can detect bending or bending in one direction. It started to be used as a game interface in Nintendo PowerGlove.
These sensors are easy to use, they are basically resistors that change value according to bending. In the corrected state the resistance is approximately ~ 25KΩ. During the bending, the resistance increases to ~ 100KΩ. It is quite similar to FSRs. You can use an analog input (with a pullup resistor) or a digital input and a 0.1uF capacitor on a microcontroller for RC timing.
Make sure that the lower part of the sensor (where the pins are bent) is very sensitive so the voltage is relieved.
